Sturgis Motorcycle Museum

 "Pappy" Hoel was credited with starting the Sturgis rally in 1938. By 1960 attendance was up to 700. In recent years it has gone as high as 500,00.


This is the very last victory produced. Behind it is a crated 1999 Excelsior-Henderson which also failed (after only 2 years of production) 


 . . . did anybody tell this guy that "chrome don't get you home"

the 1982 Sturgis model (left) was the first H-D to use the modern belt drive. the tribute Sturgis model next to it was produced for the 1991 model year. All H-D's now use the belt drive after it was phased in over a few years.
